PHAI VILLAGE

Phai is a village located in Zophei District, Thantlang Township, Chin State, Myanmar. It is situated approximately 35 miles from Hakha and 20 miles from Thantlang City. Phai Village lies at an estimated elevation of 3,927 meters above sea level and was founded in AD 1890 by Pu Van Dul.

The village is bordered by four neighboring villages: Buanlung Village to the east, Hriphi Village to the west, Congthia Village to the north, and Hmawngtlang Village to the south. Bawipatlang Mountain is located within the village. Phai is surrounded by numerous rivers and streams, including Parilkhorva Stream, Sazuksihva, Ruava, Mangheilova, Ruachiava, Chuahkhenpa Va, Lungaihniar Va, Aanhmawngva, Thanghor River, Lungtawlva, Sihpiva, Bawpalungva, Innthlanglova, and Khenlingkhuaiinnva.

There is a middle school in the village. The first missionary worker in Phai Village was Pu Pa Raang. There is one church in the village:

  1. Baptist Church – Pastors: Rev. Dr. Ngun Kham, Rev. Van Thang, Rev. Tawk Kam, and Pastor Tial Hnin Thang

The villagers primarily earn their livelihood through farming and shifting cultivation. Phai Village has 72 households, with an estimated population of about 340.
