Tilak

Tilak is a village located in the eastern part of Senthang District, Hakha Township, Chin State. It is situated 12 miles from Gangaw city. The village was founded in AD 1975 by Pu Uk Mang from Phaipha (A) village. He was joined by Pu Hre Lian from Hausen village, Pu Do Ci, Pu Hau Len, and Pu Duh Mang from Daidin village.

A notable landmark near Tilak village is Lungpinu, a massive rock located at the borders of Tilak village, Chawncum village, and the Rangsi mountain range. This rock is famous for its scenic views, especially from the southeast. Additionally, the Phokva River, which forms part of the border between Chawncum village and Magwe region, features a large waterfall that attracts many visitors from surrounding villages.

Tilak village lies on the border between Chin State and Magwe region. The villagers earn their living through farming, shifting cultivation, and weaving. The village has a middle school.

There are six churches in Tilak village: Baptist Church, Assembly of God Church, Reformed Evangelical Church, Roman Catholic Church, Believer Church, and The Church. The pastors serving these churches include Pastor Sam Eng (Baptist Church), Pastor Van Cung Nung (senior pastor at Assembly of God), and Rev. Pum Ling (Reformed Evangelical Church).

Tilak village has approximately 150 households and about 500 inhabitants.
