THLUALAM VILLAGE

Thlualam is a village located in Thantlang Township, Chin State, Myanmar. It is situated approximately 30 miles from Hakha and lies at an estimated elevation of 4,875 meters above sea level. Thlualam Village was founded in AD 1833 by Pu Ngun Khar.

The village is bordered by five neighboring villages: Thantlang to the east, Tlangrua Village to the northeast, Sopum Village to the southeast, and Hmunlipi and Vambai Villages to the west.

Thlualam is surrounded by several mountains and rivers that shape its landscape. Notable mountains include Vuichip Mount and Khuasuar to the east, Khintlang and Hnahsau to the west, and Cika and Lamtuah to the west. The Thingva River flows to the southwest of the village.

There are two churches serving the village community:

  1. Baptist Church – Pastors: Pastor Thang Bik, Than Duh Hnin, Tial Thawng, Tial Bang, and Denit

  2. Believer Church – Pastors: Pastor Za Khuai, Lung Muan, Ni Cung, Rual Erh, Tum Cung, and Bawi Lian Thang

The first missionary worker in Thlualam Village was Saya Pa Hrek.

Thlualam Village has a high school. The villagers primarily earn their livelihood through farming and shifting cultivation. Thlualam has 90 households, including 55 IDP camp households, with an estimated population of about 627 inhabitants.
