LAWNGVA VILLAGE
Lawngva is a village located in Zotung District, Matupi Township, Chin State, Myanmar. It is situated approximately 84 miles from Hakha. Lawngva Village was founded in AD 1465 by Pu Ni Ceu and lies at an estimated elevation of 5,820 meters above sea level.
The village is bordered by four neighboring villages: Dumva Village and Pangva Village to the east, Fahau Village to the south, and Lotaw Village to the west. The Riva River and Vapiva Stream flow to the west of the village, while Kuapatlang Mountain also lies to the west. These natural features play an important role in the daily life and livelihood of the villagers.
There are three churches serving the village community:
- Baptist Church – Senior full-time Pastor: Rev. Rung Sah
- Assembly of God Church – Full-time Pastor: Rev. Khrih Lian
- Roman Catholic Church
Lawngva Village has a primary school. The villagers primarily earn their livelihood through farming and shifting cultivation. Currently, Lawngva Village has 22 households, with an estimated population of about 116.
