KUHCHAH VILLAGE
Kuhchah is a village located in Thantlang Township, Chin State, Myanmar. It is situated approximately 30 miles from Hakha and 9 miles from Thantlang City. Kuhchah Village lies at an estimated elevation of 4,640 meters above sea level and was founded by Pu Tin Khar sometime between AD 1500 and 1600.
The village is bordered by five neighboring villages: Vanmualthar Village and Loklung Village to the east, Tlangrua Village to the west, Congthia Village to the east-left, and Thantlang City to the east-right. Kuhchah is surrounded by several mountains and rivers. Notable mountains include Bawipatlang Mount and Pupi Mount to the east, and Langakbutlang Mount to the west. Major streams include Conglianva Stream and Lawtehva Stream to the east; Thaltehva and Tlakpiva Streams to the west; and Ngaaltarawhva and Khuaipiva Streams to the east-left.
The first missionary worker in Kuhchah Village was Pu Phir Kio. There are four churches serving the village community:
- Baptist Church – Full-time Pastors: Rev. Tha Ceu and Pastor Ngun Tial
- Assembly of God Church – Full-time Pastors: Rev. Biak Cung and Pastor Tial Hre
- United Pentecostal Church
- Sabbath Church
Kuhchah Village has a middle school. The villagers primarily earn their livelihood through farming and shifting cultivation. Currently, Kuhchah Village has 74 households, with an estimated population of about 355.
