TLANGRUA (A) VILLAGE

Tlangrua (A) is a village located in Thantlang Township, Chin State, Myanmar. It is situated approximately 31 miles from Hakha City and 8 miles from Thantlang City. Tlangrua (A) Village lies at an estimated elevation of 4,250 meters above sea level and was founded in AD 1445 by Pu Khil Teng.

The village is bordered by six neighboring villages: Kuhchah Village to the east, Vambai Village to the west, Congthia Village and Hriphi Village to the north, and Thantlang City and Thlualam Village to the south. The village is surrounded by several mountains and rivers. Notable mountains include Lungartlang to the east and Ngaltuktlang to the west. The La-Aw River flows to the southeast, while the Silipi River lies to the west.

The first missionary worker in Tlangrua (A) Village was Pu Lian Awi. There are five churches serving the village community:

  1. Baptist Church

  2. Assembly of God Church

  3. Roman Catholic Church

  4. United Pentecostal Church

  5. Sabbath Church

The pastors serving the churches include Pastor Hrang Kar, Thang Bik, Vai Maung, Ngun Hlei Thang, Dawt Kham, and Hia Hmung.

Tlangrua (A) Village has a high school. The villagers primarily earn their livelihood through farming and shifting cultivation. Currently, Tlangrua (A) Village has 113 households, including 35 IDP households, with an estimated population of about 743 inhabitants.
